Since government announced the credit card tax, the sales of credit card had dropped significantly. Some even said it was as much as 80%.
To recoup their losses, banks had came up with various campaigns, including some dirty tactics.
One of the bank sent my wife a letter on December (just before 1 Jan 2010), stating that they had increased her credit limit to Rm35,000. Now, why would she need a credit limit which is more than 30 times her monthly expenditure?
(no, sorry, the picture is taken from the web)
One week later, the bank issued her a Platinum card.
Now we knew its trick. It was to increase the number of cards we own!
Immediately, we placed a call to its call centre. We insisted that we would want the card to be canceled without even being activated.
Dirty tricks indeed.
Since quite a few of you are interested in the response from the post the length they would go, I will write a short post as part 2.
My jaw dropped when I heard what the girlfriend said. I stared at the guy incredulously.
After regaining my pose: “I am sure you have quite a few Muslim students in your class?”
He just nod his head.
I continued: “I guess they are still coming to attend their classes?”
He grinned sheepishly.
“If all of them can do it, why do you think you would need four days of rest? Do you know that more than half of our country are Muslim? What will happen if everyone behave like you?”
Both of them decided to leave.
Noticed quite a few weird things during my trip back to Ipoh.
One thing that stuck to my mind was :
While I was overtaking a car, I noticed that the car had its windows wound down, and its driver’s right hand hanging outside the window.
Curious as I saw that the hand wasn’t holding a cigarette (that would seemed to be the most likely reason to keep the windows wound down), I took a good look at the driver. It was then that I saw the driver retracted his hand. I thought: Ahh, finally decided to keep both hands on the wheel?
To my horror, I was proven wrong immediately! While he decided to keep his right hand on the wheel, his left hand migrated to … pinch his female companion’s face and … then travel south!
I decided to really to step on the gas and accelerated ahead. Not really save to have this car 100 meters within mine.
Dumex Dugro launched their new look (and new packaging) in 1 Utama.
For that, they have the “Dumex Dugro Adventure”.
Though the ‘adventure tunnel’ was rather short, and less exciting than the Immufortis function in March, my kids still enjoyed themselves. Thank you Dumex.
Of course. It was a lot of fun looking at those … mascots?
