One of the hot game for year 2013 : Tomb Raider – Survival Edition (PC)

Does the game lives up to the premise?

That’s a resounding: YES.

The game really got it right on so many levels.

The difficulty is just sufficient, the music matches the environment so well, the graphic is mind-blowing, the cut-scene is unbelievably movie-like …

The game easily score 88 out of 100.

Strongly recommend to any gamers who are into this genre.

The only obvious flaw of the game:
The occasional ‘QuckTime Event’ embedded in the game.
It is obviously a buggy adaptation from Playstation.
Due to the flaw, you will see your character die over and over again in front of you, until you are lucky enough to did it ‘just right’. Depressing.

These two really have unbelievable talent.

I was so relieved when Lazaro Arbos was voted out. Finally the curse of ‘male getting the vote even though female proves to be a better singer’ was broken.

I would say that this Grilled Cod was really ‘value for money’.
At Rm19.90, it tasted so fresh and juicy.

Grilled Salmon.
At RM42.90, it was a bit beyond the budget.
Probably would not be considering it again.

Hickory BBQ Bacon Burger. Ordered by son.
Well cooked. The burger tasted nice.
Similarly, would probably advise my son to order something else.
Rm30 for a burger is really a luxury for us.

Cheese Nachos.
Now this is something mouth watering.
Definitely will be re-ordering next time. Worth recommending.

I must mentioned a short story here.
Due to my own negligence, I had bought the coupon for the wrong outlet (I have wrongly clicked onto the Midvalley outlet).
I have written to Livingsocial, but they have refused to make the changes for me.
Fortunately, Natalie from Kung Fu Group had been very kind. Even though it was near Chinese New Year, she still patiently read my email and forwarded it to the respectively outlets to make the proper arrangement.

Anyway, I went for my dinner at Kung Fu Paradise at Paradigm Mall last week.

A pleasant environment. The waitresses were polite and courteous.

Mushroom soup. Not bad.

Err… pardon my memory … black pepper beef? Could have been better.

This looks really plain. Also tasted so so.

If there is such a phrase， I would say: Tasted so so so so so …. (you get what I mean)

This is really a big … scam.
When we look at the poster on the wall, it looks enticing and yummy.

But when they serve up the ‘lava cake’, we almost scream: So ……….. big??!!
Then we look at the wall poster again. We have to laugh at ourselves. Memang kena liao.

Now it has added three ‘long-awaited’ emoticons for us.

I guess everyone knows what ‘raising middle finger’ signifies? No explanation needed here.

Ahh. A “dislike” emoticons. Hopefully this will be enabled for comments. Too bad we can’t use it in the comment function for now.

Manage to get a Livingsocial discounted-rate coupon to dine in Sanbanto SS2.
Before this, I always thought that (from the design) this shop was purely a shop selling raw pork!

We went around 7pm. Most of the pork and its products already sold.

This was the first time I noticed the row of tables. Nice decor.

Salad. Nice! Fresh vege.

Pumpkin soup.

My favourite. Curry pork.

Burger.

The food was really nice. If it wasn’t the hefty price tag, we might come again.

The minute I charged up the phone and started using it, I regretted my decision.

The response to the finger swipe was sluggish. Extremely sluggish! Your finger could have swipe from one end to the other, but the phone would have perceive that you stopped halfway, and thus totally missed what you would have wanted.

When you use it to surf onto Facebook, you would be dealt with another death blow. I mean literally. The screen would have froze when it showed ‘loading’. The loading would stretch on and on to eternity. You would need to press the Home button, go back to Home screen, then reload your browser. With luck, you would be brought to the newly loaded page. At times, you would still be greeted by the ‘loading’ page. Duh.

What is even more frustrating than that?

No support for synchronizing contacts!

We would have thought that since this was version 4.0 of Android, the company would have learn that this is one of the most important software we would look forward to. They better put in some effort to it. But no. Ninetology decided not to provide us with the software. We need to use the Google online account to sync our contacts.

Needless to say, I am real hesitant to load all my phone contacts onto Google. What if it got hack?

If Samsung and Sony can come up with decent and user-friendly software to do it, why can’t Ninetology?

Never mind. Forget about those things. Let gets to the most basic of the basic stuff:

Adding photos, and specific MP3 ringtones to my contacts.

Horror!

For adding photos onto the contacts, you need to go OUT of the contact list, and use an application to do it! Gosh. Is that what you call a user-friendly phone?

Worse still, for adding MP3 as ringtones, you have to move ALL your favourite MP3 into a folder named “ringtones”, in order to be able to use it as such. Hey. Phone memory is precious. Why can’t I use my external memory card to store MP3? The answer is NO.

That’s it. I could not took it anymore. I use it for less than 3 hours, and decided to brought it back to the dealer. I top up some money, and exchanged it with a Sony Experia J.

Throughout the dinner, this pretty lady serenaded us with nice lovely songs.

If you are driving back to kampung, please be careful on the road.

The reason?

We need to wait for the second batch of Ferrari Model LEGO® Collection!
It was the first time my kids paid close attention to the petrol level in our car.
Each time the meter showed a lower level, they said: Hurray!
(They conveniently forgotten that I need to pay to top it up later)

The day arrived finally, and we drove to the petrol station happily.

I let them picked a model each.

There was one model on the shelf which we have yet to collect.

The clerk asked: Do you want it too?

Not wanting to splash so much on those models, I politely decline.
(Not knowing the trouble later)

A week passed.

Kids said: Why not we go and collect the last model?

Err…. why not?

We drove to the station.

The cashier: Sorry. Out of stock.

We gone home disappointed.

We went there after 10 days. No stock.

Another 10 days. Still no stock.

By this time, I have two whimpy kids at home, saying: Why didn’t you buy it the first time?

I thought we should give up hope on ever collecting that piece of LEGO.

At the end of December, we had to travelled back to Ipoh for some family emergency. While we were at the petrol station, wife suddenly said: Probably they would have stock here.

So wife brought kids into the store, while I pumped petrol. Wife asked: Do you have stock for those LEGO models?

Cashier: Yes. How many you want?

Overjoyed, wife said: Wait. My husband has not finish.

Cashier: Oh. Don’t worry. You can buy those models even if you Don’t pump the petrol.

Wife: Huh? Ok.

(What a big difference. In Petaling Jaya, out of stock. In Ipoh, those models obviously do not warrant attention)

Anyway, finally we manage to collect every model. Phew.
